Outreach - Smoke Detector Installation - March 11th

  • On Saturday, March 11th, we are combining efforts with the HSC Pets for Life team, Team Rubicon, and the American Red Cross to install smoke detectors and deliver dog food to families in need. We’re meeting at the fellowship hall of Sherman Memorial Church at: 1401 Parkwood Avenue Charlotte, NC 28205 We will have a light lunch and brief training session before breaking into teams and deploying to the community. Please dress in your Outreach Orange T-shirt, (shirts available day-of). Must be 16 years of age to participate. Please be punctual!

Bank of America Adoption and Awareness - April 5th

  • We are looking for volunteers and foster families to come out on Wednesday, April 5th to Founder's Hall at the Bank of America Building to showcase adoptable dogs and spread awareness about APBF. We will not be permitted to have a donation jar on site, or sell any APBF items, it is simply an awareness event to help find our adoptable dogs great homes, and bring awareness about the work of APBF. Please be punctual. Parking is at the Bank of America Corporate Center and will be validated.
    If you have a foster dog you would like to bring, or would like to request a volunteer to bring your foster dog, please email sara@apbf.dog.

Doggy Day at Google Fiber - April 8th

We appreciate all the support. We have reached the maximum number of volunteers needed for this event.

Pet Palooza - April 22nd

  • Join us to support our friends at the Humane Society of Charlotte for their annual Pet Palooza Festival. Foster dogs will not be on site for this event. We will set up a tent and table with information about APBF, merchandise, and a raffle item for visitors. We are looking for volunteers to talk with participants about responsible dog ownership, to promote Pit Bull type dogs, and to help recruit additional volunteers. The event takes place at Independence Park off of 7th street. Black APBF Volunteer shirts are preferred attire.

One Word Project

  • We are conducting a brief social volunteer experiment and we need your help with - or - your "word" rather. Tell us what one word comes to mind most when you think of your volunteer service for others.
